We started the day hitting the Pride Parade downtown with a couple friends. It was a blast, and really long. I think it went for about 2 and a half hours! But, we got to see George Takei!! ACK!! He was the grand marshall of the parade. Here's just a couple photos:
Cool stilt walkers
giant puppet things.
Afterwards we got some lunch at one of our favorite places near the house and relaxed for a bit. Then we took off for an afternoon/evening in Yellow Springs Ohio, one of our favorite nearby towns. It's about a 45 minute drive from us, and it's got all sorts of fun little shops. It's got a fun, colorful hippie vibe in the town and is FULL of artwork all over the place. After hitting the shops we went to Glen Helen park for a very long hike in the woods. We got started late and got a little turned around a couple times, and found a lot of mud. So the hike was....tense at times. But over all it was just beautiful.
THE Yellow Spring, for which the town is named. (They're really more orange)
Heading out on the trail!
This tree just left me in awe. It was amazing.
We were so exhausted and completely drenched in sweat after the long hike we decided to just come home. I felt too gross to be seen in public! We each took a much needed shower and snuggled up on the couch for some TV time. Naturally 2 minutes into the show we picked to watch, we passed out. But it was a great day over all. Here's to another year with theonlyboyfriend.
