Wednesday WIPs and an FO!

First and foremost a big Ta-Da!!!!!!  I finished the sidewalk shawl!!  My first try with pineapples and it was very easy.

I'm typically not a fan of putting fringe on my stuff but this pattern cried for it. And it does look nice.  however I will say this.  FRINGE TAKES FOREVER!!!  Oh my lord.  But it really helped finish this project.  I'm in love with it.

Well since that is done I really only have one WIP at the moment.  This is unheard of for me.  Crazy I tell you!!!  But the Tunisian scarf/cowl is coming along.  I haven't decided if it will be a full scarf or just a cowl.  Likely the latter.

There she is!  I just love the colors and the yarn is just so fluffy and soft.

I do have some WIPs I can start any time and probably will.  I'm making one of these for theonlyboyfriend for  his desk at his new job!  I just need to buy some green yarn and I am flat broke until Friday.  So that won't get started until the weekend.

I'm also making some uteruses.  Uteri?  Spell check says it's uteri.  Anyway, you might have heard about the group on Ravelry that has been making national news. I joined right away.  Basically we're knitting or crocheting uteri and other lady bits to send to all the members of congress that are trying to pass the most ridiculous misogynistic and barbaric laws, basically saying "Keep your hand off my uterus and here's your own."

I try really hard to steer away from politics on this blog so I won't go much deeper into this here.  All I can say to the ladies reading out there is please get out and vote this fall.  While we still are allowed to.

I'd prefer to end on a happy note, so I'll mention that theonlyboyfriend is loving his new job!  It seems to be going very well and he's happy there.  We've both been working hard at the apartment too to get things cleaned out and organized.  I'm in full spring cleaning mode now and getting into all those nooks and crannies with the cleaning supplies.  Working on a different area each day.  The house is practically shining.  Hah!  And in other happy news theonlybrother is recovering nicely from his surgery.  Thanks so much for all the love and prayers!

Well that's about all for today.  Sorry it's been quiet lately.  I definitely plan to post more coming up.  :)  Have a great Wednesday!

  2. Your sidewalk shawl looks lovely! I'm currently at the beginning of making one! I just wondered whether you blocked yours, as your pineapples look so neat and perfect and nicely defined?

    Thanks, Maria

    1. Thank you!! I did not block the shawl. I used Berocco Weekend yarn, which is kinda silky and it really did not need blocking. :)
