Yarnmarket and Tunisian FO!

As you can guess from my so, very original title, I finished my Tunisian Shawl and went to the Yarnmarket today!

First; Yarnmarket.  They had an open house at their warehouse today.  Man it was PACKED!  There were more people there than I've seen at any of the open houses I've been to.  But it was super fun.  I went in on a strict budget, which I (of course) disregarded.  *sigh*  BUT!  That said, I still did a lot better than I have on my previous trips.  The Berroco was all 20% off and Berroco is my FAVORITE yarn.  I'd planned to get some Vintage for a shawl I plan to make.  Problem was I found some Weekend that I loved too.  So I got enough of both.  Heh.  So I'm either making 2 shawls, or will just use one for another project.  IT WAS ON SALE PEOPLE!!  So it's ok, right?  Ugh.  Ok, well here's my purchase:

The blue is "Wild Blueberry" from the Vintage line (wool acrylic blend) and the gray is "Camp Stove" from the Weekend line.  (Peruvian cotton acrylic blend)  It's hard to see in the photos but the weekend yarn has a silky look to it.  It's almost shiny.

I'm in love with both.

Now, to my Tunisian shawl.  I am so sick with pride on this one.  Seriously.  I can't really say anything that will top these photos:

I have to give 70% of the credit to this yarn.  It is simply breathtaking.  But the pattern is amazing too.  I'm just stunned with how well this came out.

I'm going to go snuggle it for awhile.  Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!!

  1. Beautiful yarn and beautiful shawl. You have done a great job with it. Lucky you to have a Yarn Market close by. I have to travel a bit to get to my local "Yarn Shop" otherwise its just Hobby Lobby, Michael's or Joann's for me!
