I had a great girls day with my mom today. We went to the Scott Antique Market at the fairgrounds, one of our favorite mother/daughter things to do. We were both tired and it's a lot of walking on hard cement floors, so we didn't linger as long as we usually do at the stands. Plus today was the final day and a lot of vendors skip the final day, or pack up really early, so the place was only about 1/2 full. Either way we made the best of it.
No big treasures were bought, but we did get a few little things. Mom got some old postcards from her hometown of New Philadelphia, Ohio. Specifically the main building in the town center because my great grandfather helped to build it! (I think it was great-grandpa and not grandpa. Geh, forgive me if I got that wrong, mom!!) And I got a couple new little kitties for my very meager collection.
They're happy in their new home with their brothers and sisters. :)
I did find one big item I was REALLY temped to get. But I just don't have a spare $325 laying around. And there would have been a LOT of explaining to be done to theonlyboyfriend on our new coffee table.
I mean COFFIN table. :) The owner of it talked my ear off a bit, but was selling me on it more and more. It was made in the 1880s, child's coffin. Had the original lining and all the original parts. The inside was a little worn, slightly torn in places, but other than that it was really nice. My only other fear would be the cat deciding it was a really neat scratching post. YIKES!!! Oh well. Some day!!
That's it for now. I hope everyone is well and having a wonderful weekend!! Xoxoxo!
