Impromptu Trip and a long weekend ahead

We took an impromptu trip to Yellow Springs last night for dinner.  Seems odd to drive an hour for food, but we just love that town so dang much and just needed an evening away from home.  (Seemed even odder since I’m going right back out there on Sunday for the Wool Gathering.)

Anyway we made the trip out and found nearly the entire town was yarn bombed!!!  It was getting dark so I only got one good photo:

This one was felt and yarn.  It was so super cool to see all the telephone poles, stop signs, benches…all covered in beautiful yarn!

Naturally we got dinner at HaHa Pizza, and as always it was amazing.  We walked around a bit, although Yellow Springs after dark has a bit of a different vibe.  But it was still nice to walk off dinner and enjoy the weather.  All in all it was a great night for a spur-of-the-moment trip.

As I mentioned I’m headed back out for the Wool Gathering in Yellow Springs.   I went last year and it was just amazing.  I can’t WAIT to go!  Although I’m going to have to go on Sunday so I hope I don’t miss all the good stuff!  It’s going to be a long, busy weekend filled with a crap-ton of driving.  We’re headed down to Athens for a wedding Saturday and staying there over night.  Sunday will be a quick drive back to Columbus to drop off Bren and then another hour drive in the opposite direction!  So it’s not going to be a cheap weekend but it will be a blast and I can’t WAIT!  Of all the events in the world, I love weddings and yarn festivals the most.  Hee hee.
