Got bit hard by the productivity bug this weekend.
I'm thinking it's because this was the first weekend in months that I had NOTHING to do the entire weekend, and I am completely unable to relax or even sit still.
So, yesterday I focused on the kitchen. I'm talking down on the floor scrubbing the corners, removing everything from the cabinets and cleaning the shelves and washing the trashcan kind of cleaning. Reorganized things a bit as well. The kitchen.... looks friggin amazing now. I'm working hard to keep that brilliant shimmer to last a little bit more than a day too. I'm particularly proud of this:
This corner has been driving me nuts since we moved in. It's a very deep corner and difficult to get to, a massive waste of space. Why I never thought of sticking the microwave back there before I'll never know.
Then did the dusting and about 5 loads of laundry, vacuum, etc. And did those little projects I'd been meaning to get too. Hanging some artwork, cleaning out some drawers, fixing small things, etc. Then the damn power went out. For no apparent reason. (and of course I had laundry in the washer and the dryer.) The whole street was dead too. No storms, no wind, no nothing. *Blink* out. (We're having a lot of electrical problems lately. The power seems to go out if we sneeze the wrong way) So we called AEP and decided to go see a movie as it was already close to 80 in the house. They said power would be back on by 11PM and the movie was at 9:30, so we figured it'd be back on when we got back. Sadly we got home at 12:30 and it was still out. But here's the kicker; we live in a duplex and the other side had power. (Insert my string of profanity here) Finally around 2AM someone called us back and walked Brendan through flipping the fire trip. Whatever the hell that is. Power restored, Gods praised. By about 7AM the house was not an oven anymore. And here we are now about 5PM and I'm almost not sweating anymore. Almost.
But enough of my whining.
Got more done today with cleaning and finally did some of that relaxing thing I've hard so much about. Took a nap with the cat:
watched some mindless TV, crocheted a little. Just finished making and eating dinner for Bren and I. He's off to a meeting and I'm going to spend the rest of the evening crocheting and watching some movies I think.
All in all, a good weekend, power outage aside.
