I really don’t know what’s gotten into me with this selfless acts thing.
For those of you unfamiliar, there is an online community called Ravelry. It kind of like a Facebook thing for yarn crafters. I spend far too much time on this site. Heh. There are a few groups for RAKs, (Random Acts of Kindness) within this site. You can post a wishlist and give the moderator your address (privately). Then if someone has the things you need/want, or just wants to buy it for you, they do. Then you get it. It’s seriously that simple. I’ve given gifts to a couple different people now.
Today, I put together about a dozen blank greeting/note cards with stickers and little handwritten notes, and then included an inspirational quote. Then received random addresses from the moderator and sent them off.
I guess I’ve kinda been going a bit nuts with this. Heh. But I received a very nice gift from someone else and it just felt so wonderful, I felt compelled to do the same.
Wouldn’t it be fun to have a massive RAK for the world? Some universal site for this? Who knows, maybe there already is one somewhere.
sounds like a Good Thing to me....
