Death and Blessings

This is to be my most stressful and longest week already.  Add in death of far too many people around me.  My friend’s girlfriend was murdered and set afire by her psychotic ex, my sister’s dad was killed by cancer, a sister in church….

Between being at work all day and being at Vacation Bible School all evening all week, I’m dog sitting and friend sitting.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t bat an eyelash at doing any of this.  I am and will always be here to help anyone I can.

On a good side my week is surrounded by animals and children, both of which I love more than anything else in this world.  Last night, one of the handicapped children in my class at church needed some help with the crossword puzzle we were working on, as he was falling behind.  So I sat down with him to give him a hand.  He was doing very well with it and I told him this.  He wrapped his tiny arms around my waist and looked up at me and said, “I’m so happy I’m here this week, Miss Nikki.”

I cried.

“I’m very happy you’re here too.”

If you’re interested, here’s the link to the story about my friend’s girlfriend who was murdered by her ex.  All the news stories are saying the man who killed her was her boyfriend.  This is not true.
