Opening night went very well. Amazingly well actually. Jim (my actor) stepped up his performance to a level I had not seen yet. He blew everyone away. The audience was rapt. And I loved every minute of it. Hee hee. My assistant director and I were both more nervous than Jim was. Holding hands and shaking a bit as the lights came down at the top of the show. Apparently so was Cody, the playwright.
The playwright and his family came in from LA to see the show. I was impressed he came all this way. But its the first time that particular show has been produced and the first time any of his scripts had been produced by someone other than himself. He was ecstatic. Giddy as a school girl at the end of the night. (Odd side note; apparently both of his parents and some other family members all went to my college alma mater, Mount Union. Small world, huh?)
Whew. Well opening night is done. It's all downhill from here.
I sleep now.
