Happy Things

Ugh.  I hate it when people tell me amazing good news and follow it up with "but you can't tell anyone yet."  GRAH!!!

Well twice yesterday I received insanely good news from 2 different friends.  Although I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to talk about the engagement.  My old and dear friend Chris and his special lady friend, also a dear friend of mine, are now officially engaged.  Not really a huge surprise, but still so friggin happy.  My heart is exploding with joy for them.  Even more exciting is their wedding.  It's going to be yet another MadLab moment in history.  In the style of our "Theatre 24", they're doing "Wedding 24".  That's the plan as it was told to me yesterday.

For those of you who have not experienced our "Theatre 24" allow me to explain.  When we do these shows we chose 5-6 writers, 5-6 directors, and up to 30 actors.  24 hours before the performance we all meet at the theatre.  We draw writers, directors and actors' names out of a hat, and group them together.  The actors chose their own costume and 1 prop ahead of time and wear/bring them to the drawing that night.  The writers then go home and write a script 5-20 pages in length based on what actors/props are chosen for them.  The next morning they hand off the script to the directors and we rehearse all day and perform that night.  5-6 shows all created in 24 hours.  So you can imagine how the wedding will go.  Everything is drawn from a hat.  EVERYTHING.  Cake, dress, decorations, even best man and maid of honor, nothing will be separated by gender either.  (God help us if Greg McGill gets the dress.)  And we throw it together in 24 hours.  Bren and I were asked to be involved, so I'm super excited.  So long as I don't get anything that involves cooking.  Oh man.

The other one big freat news I can't talk about yet, but it's just as excitingly happy for a couple of my friends.  I got tears in my eyes when I heard.  I literally cried a little.
